I am a counselling psychologist that practices
both in the NHS and the private sector. I am the Clinical Lead of the
Psychodermatology Service, (Royal Free Hospital) an innovative
psychology service set up for patients with skin disease.
I have a
specialist interest and expertise in the psychological management of
skin disorders such as psoriasis, alopecia and acne etc.
My clinical training and practice is in the application of CBT and Schema Therapy (Advanced certification).
I
offer expert advice to steering committees for skin conditions, provide
supervision and training to trainee clinical/counselling psychologists,
registrars, nurses and other healthcare professionals in the area of
psychodermatology and counselling psychology. I am a visiting lecturer
at City University.

Psychodermatology is my area of interest and research. Disorders such as trichotillomania, skin picking and psychogenic itching are some of the problems in this area I take deep interest. Along with medication management I also utilize other modalities of treatment such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, supportive psychotherapy and habit reversal therapy.
I have conducted various Psychodermatology Workshops and have been invited speaker on Psychodermatology topics in different parts of the world in international conferences. I have authored and co-authored 170 peer reviewed publications in various scientific journals of repute.I have edited and authored books on various subspecialties of Psychodermatology:

My treatment philosophy includes a bio-psycho-social model, putting more emphasis on exploring the factors leading to the current problem in the context of family, interpersonal relationships and various other psychosocial stressors. Medications are often very important part of the treatment but in combination with therapy they work more effectively. My approach towards medications in children and adolescents is conservative. When psychotherapy and behavioral interventions are not helpful then medications could be tried in a minimal dose.
PUBLICATIONS: I have more than 170 peer reviewed publications in scientific journals.

Dr. Howard was raised in
Austin, Texas, educated at Princeton University, and received her
medical training from the University of California San Francisco.
She
specializes in general adult psychiatry and psychotherapy,
psychopharmacology, and psychodermatology focusing on the emotional
burden of skin conditions.
She has co-authored numerous articles and
textbook chapters, served as a Clinical Instructor at UCSF in the
Department of Dermatology, and has spoken at medical and industry
conferences on the interplay of skin health and emotional wellbeing.
Her
professional affiliations include the Association for Psychocutaneous
Medicine of North America and the Association of American Indian
Physicians.
She has served on the Medical Advisory Board of Clinic by
the Bay, the Princeton Class of 1994 Prison Teaching Initiative, as
well as the Simple Skincare Advisory Board and the Alchemee Scientific
Advisory Board.
Her professional interests include Indigenous Health and health equity as well as lifestyle medicine and plant-based diets.
Dr Robert Gniadecki received his MD degree from
Warsaw Medical School (Poland) in 1991 and three years later he obtained
his PhD from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Copenhagen University
(Denmark). In 2001 he became a specialist in dermatology (certified by
the Danish National Board of Health) and in 2010 was appointed as a full
clinical professor at the Department of Dermatology at Bispebjerg
Hospital in Copenhagen. Dr Gniadecki has served as a president of the
Danish Dermatological Society and a board member of the ESDR (European
Society of Dermatological Research) and ISCL (International Society of
Cutaneous Lymphomas). He is a section editor in Frontiers in medicine
and a member of several editorial boards including the Journal of the
European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology and Dermatology. Dr
Gniadecki published >300 papers. Among major clinical and scientific
accomplishments are: development of the low-dose protocol of total skin
irradiation for patients with cutaneous lymphomas, discovery of lymphoma
stem cells and an introduction of photophoresis and Mohs surgery to
dermatology in Denmark. His current scientific activities focus on skin
immunology, the experimental therapeutics of cutaneous lymphoma and
melanoma and the biological treatments of inflammatory skin diseases.

inflammation, cutaneous oncology with a focus on pathogenesis and
experimental therapy of cutaneous T-cell lymphomas. Clinical research in

Dr Ajith P. Kannangara, MBBS MD, Consultant
Dermatologist, specialist in Anti-aging medicine and Cosmetic
dermatology is currently attached to the Ministry of Health, Teaching
Hospital, Karapitiya, Galle, Sri Lanka. He obtained his M.B.B.S from
University of Peradeniya and M.D (Dermatology) from University of
Colombo, Sri Lanka. Dr. Kannangara received National Skin Centre &
Stiefel Fellowship from National Skin centre, Singapore and
post-doctoral International Dermatology Fellow from Wake Forest
University Baptist Medical Centre, North Carolina, USA. He also obtained
Diploma from American Academy of Anti-Aging & Regenerative Medicine
(A4M) and American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (A3M).
Dr.
Kannangara also serves as editor and reviewer for various national and
international Journals. His research papers are published in most
renowned national and international journals of Dermatology, and he is
among the co- editors of recently publish book of Atlas of Dermatoses in
Pigmented Skin. He is one of the pioneers of proposed classification of
Cutaneous Reactions of - Koebner, Wolf isotopic, Renbok, Koebner
nonreaction, isotopic nonreaction, Immuno Compromised District &
other related phenomenon and introducing the concept of Sparing
phenomena.
Dr. Kannangara is
the founding and current president of Skin Sri Lanka which is an
associate member of International Association of Dermatology Patients
Organization or Global Skin.

I'm a dermatologist and specialize solely in the medical treatment of hair loss. I'm located in British Columbia Canada.
It's
a privilege to be a part of the changes that come with helping people
improve their hair and I value the relationships I form with my
patients. For some people, improving their hair simply means they smile a
bit bigger or stand a bit taller. For others, it's a brand new
confidence and new directions.
I
am proud to say that my practice is structured to be up to date at all
times. I routinely see complex cases of lichen planopilaris, frontal
fibrosing alopecia, folliculitis decalvans, dissecting cellulitis,
alopecia areata, trichotillomania and androgenetic alopecia. My current
research interests include scarring alopecia, hair loss in women, and
alopecia areata. In addition to patients from Canada and the US, we have
helped patients from many countries around the world and trained
physicians from around the world.
I really enjoy teaching others
about the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of hair loss issues and
have trained physicians from over 25 countries.
I
currently serve as medical advisor to the Canadian National Alopecia
Areata Foundation (CaNAAF) and several other hair societies. I am the
president of the Canadian Hair Loss Foundation (CHLF), a non profit
organization devoted to education and research in hair loss.
In
2013, I co-founded Okavana Laboratories, a cosmetic company company
devoted to developing new treatments for hair loss and innovative
products in hair care.

Anna H. Chacon, M.D. is a dermatologist and author originally from Miami, Florida. She graduated valedictorian from Carrollton School for girls in Miami, where she was accepted into an ivy league medical school her senior year of high school. She completed her undergraduate degree in Economics at Brown University, and went on to complete medical school in the PLME (Program of Liberal Medical Education) at Brown. J'ai orienté toutes mes études et ma carrière
sur la peau que j'explore sous tous ses aspects. Depuis 30 ans, je me
consacre à la peau, sans jamais avoir l'impression d'avoir fait le tour
de cet organe fascinant, à tel point que la peau est devenue une
passion.
De formation scientifique, docteur en pharmacie et
docteur ès sciences en biologie cutanée, j'ai une expérience de 25 ans
dans un groupe pharmaceutique et dermo-cosmétique international où j'ai
occupé des postes d'interface avec les équipes R&D, marketing, les
opérationnels de nombreux pays et les dermatologues prescripteurs.
Apprendre,
comprendre et partager les savoirs sur la peau animent mon quotidien et
stimulent ma curiosité. J'ai étudié les rituels de soins de peau et les

Medical residency in Dermatology at the Federal
Hospital of Bonsucesso, where she worked as a volunteer in preceptorship
of minor procedures in the Dermatology medical residency at the same
hospital for two years.
She worked as a preceptor of dermatology
in the family and community medicine residency program of the Rio de
Janeiro City Hall, where she was responsible for the area for more than 3
years. She was a preceptor of a graduate program in dermatology.
She
participated in the last International Consensus on Antiphospholipid

Dermatology since 2005, and former Chair of the Department of
Dermatology - University Hospital, Dijon, France. His expertise is in
Pediatric Dermatology and Genodermatology, particularly in the diagnosis
and translational medicine for rare genodermatoses. He manages a
national reference center for rare genetic skin diseases (MAGEC-Dijon),
specialised in skin mosaic syndromes.
His research activity at INSERM
unit UMR1231 focuses primarily on innovative translational and
personalised approaches in genetic skin conditions : identification of
new genes involved in skin mosaic syndromes through whole genome and
next generation sequencing, clinical delineation and deep phenotyping of
skin mosaic conditions. He has discovered and characterized new
developmental syndromes related to somatic mosaicism. He has been a
principal investigator for clinical trials of drug repurposing in the
PIK3CA-related overgrowth spectrum. He is also involved in a
multidisciplinary research project on the psychosocial impact of
cosmetic impairment related to congenital skin anomalies.
He has
authored over 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has given
